To commemorate his 70th birthday, Ernesto Perez-Carrillo invited his fans to take part in a blind tasting featuring three mystery blends. Identical in appearance except for colored foot bands—red, gold, and platinum—each cigar offered a distinct, undisclosed recipe. A total of 2,000 boxes were produced and distributed, and once sampled, fans cast their votes online to determine the winner.
The blend crowned champion bore the platinum band. This fan-selected cigar features an oily Mexican Maduro wrapper over an Ecuadorian binder and a rich core of Nicaraguan and Dominican fillers. Medium in strength, it delivers layered complexity and refined depth—an exceptional tribute worthy of a milestone celebration.
